How do you report a figure that is wrong?
Send the page, the figure, and the primary source that contradicts it. A vendor's own pricing page or documentation is enough. Same Sample re-checks against that source, corrects the page if the source supports the correction, and logs the change on the corrections page with the date.
Corrections are the most useful mail this site receives, and they are welcome from anyone, including from the vendors being measured. Prices and credit rules change without notice, so a page checked in August can be wrong by October and no amount of care at publication prevents that.
What is published in the correction log is the substance of what changed. Your name and address are not published unless you ask for credit.

What if you work for a tool covered here?
Corrections and added context are read and acted on. What is not available is approval over a page before it publishes, or a change to a measured figure without evidence that the figure was wrong. Both limits apply to every vendor equally, including ones we earn a commission from.
A response that supplies context rather than a contradiction can be added to the page, attributed to you, and clearly marked as the vendor's position rather than a measured result.
Two other requests come up often enough to answer here. If your terms of service forbid publishing benchmark results and you want to grant written permission, that is welcome and the page will change to reflect it. If your terms forbid it and you want confirmation that we are honouring the restriction, the vendor permission matrix is enforced in the site generator rather than by memory, and any product without permission has its measured cells forced to TBA before a page is rendered.
Same Sample takes no payment for placement, no payment for review, and no equity in a vendor it covers. Offers of any of the three will be declined and, if they arrive with an implied condition attached, disclosed on the page about that product.

What if you think you are in the benchmark sample?
Write and the record will be removed and replaced. No reason is required, and the only check is that you can receive mail at the address in question or can name it. The sample itself is never published in any form, and no email is ever sent to anyone in it.
The sample is drawn only from addresses a primary source has already published, such as commit metadata on public repositories, corresponding-author lines on papers, company press pages and conference speaker pages. If you would like to know which source your record came from, ask and you will be told.
Can you ask for a tool or a category to be covered?
Yes, and suggestions are read. Inclusion is decided on whether buyers in that category actually evaluate the tool, judged by whether it appears in vendor-neutral discussion. Paying, applying to an affiliate programme, or offering a free plan does not earn a place.
A category is more likely to be added when the existing comparisons for it are assembled from vendor pages rather than produced by someone who ran the tools, since that is the gap this site exists to fill.
How long does a reply take?
Three working days for ordinary mail. A data protection request under the GDPR is answered within 30 days, which is the statutory deadline rather than a target. A correction that turns out to be right is usually published the same day it is verified.
Mail is answered by one person, not a support team. That means a considered reply rather than a fast templated one, and it means a slow week is possible.
